The National Park Explorer trip is a full day paddling adventure in the mountains. It is part trip, part instruction and a great way to find new paddling locations.
The aim of this program is to introduce participants to paddling in the mountain lakes of Banff National Park. Not only that but our instructors will further work on your kayak technique (and rescues for those wanting to), cover weather considerations, packing tips, gear tweaks and considerations, and more.
After completing this course participants can expect to have a new paddling location under their belt and have a great understanding of the appropriate weather conditions to paddle that particular body of water. Paddlers will also refine current paddling skills and learn new ones along with practising very important deep water rescues (not mandatory but encouraged and appropriate gear is provided for being in the cold water).
